Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and engaged Senior Litigation Attorney to join our team. In this role, you will manage the entire legal process for complex litigation matters, from investigation and discovery through trial preparation and court proceedings. You will be a strategic partner to both claims representatives and clients, offering expert legal guidance and representation. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to mentor and collaborate with others, and a proven track record in managing litigation cases.
This is a 90 - 120 day contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaged Legal Professional: Lead the entire litigation process, including investigation, discovery, trial prep, court hearings, and depositions. Represent clients in various proceedings, including trials, site inspections, and hearings, while negotiating settlements as necessary.
- Strategic Partner: Conduct legal research and analysis, developing sound legal strategies for all stages of litigation. Collaborate closely with claims representatives and clients, ensuring effective communication of these strategies and keeping all stakeholders informed.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with claims representatives and clients. Occasional travel for site inspections or client meetings may be required. You will also conduct training sessions for the legal, claims, and other relevant departments.
- Effective Communicator: Develop and present clear, concise, and unambiguous legal opinions and strategies. Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Collaborative Mentor: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys, offering support and direction as they manage cases. Prepare and lead internal training sessions for the legal and claims departments, fostering growth and collaboration within the team. Work with remote colleagues to ensure consistent legal practices and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Membership in the Texas Bar is required.
- Appropriate licenses to practice before federal courts and other specialized boards are preferred.
- A minimum of six years of successful experience as an attorney, with a strong background in litigation.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring collaborative and successful outcomes.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal issues to various audiences.
- Proficiency with technology tools that streamline legal processes, reduce costs, and support remote work.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

- A solid understanding of insurance law and related legal practices.
- Familiarity with the latest trends and developments in the legal field.
